
Mohamed Bassiouni invokes the full power of color in his richly patterned works of art. Pulling themes from across nature and history into a complicated visual web, Bassiouni compels the viewer of his work to keep digging deeper. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1993, Bassiouni holds a BFA (2016) with highest Honors. His graduation project tackled color relations and their impact on modern art. Bassiouni will complete his MFA in oil Painting and Drawing from the Fine Arts University in Alexandria in 2019. His thesis revolves around beliefs in ancient Egyptian paintings. He has participated in several Youth Salons and General Salons through the Ministry of Culture in Egypt. He has also participated in videography workshops sponsored by the Ecole Superieure d'Art-Aix En Provence (2014) as well as in the Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée (2015). Since 2016, he has worked as a workshop trainer at ArtsSchool- Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
